Foods To Boost Your Health That Have Gone Under The Radar

Everyone knows they should eat more fruit and veg to stay healthy, but there are some foods that are incredibly good for us, but have gone under the radar.

Lupin beans, for instance, should be a superfood, as they reduce blood sugar spikes, regulate blood pressure, strengthen bones, and lower cholesterol.

As well as containing fibre, omega-3, omega-6, potassium, calcium and phosphorus, they are also high in protein.

They originated in the Middle East and are now used in a variety of Arabic and Mediterranean cuisines, such as salads, as a side dish, or even as flours in baked goods.

Vogue also recommends eating more millet, which belongs to the seeded grass family.

There are many health benefits to Millet, particularly as it is gluten-free, and is high in protein, fibre and antioxidants.

In one cup of cooked millet, there is 6g of protein, 2.2g of fibre, 1.7g of fat, and 25 per cent of the daily recommended value of phosphorus. They are even thought to provide more essential amino acids than other cereals.

Another food worth eating more of is sardines, with the oily fish being rich in omega-3, vitamin D, and unsaturated fats.

There are many ways to eat sardines, from grilling it with some rice or potatoes to adding it to a tomato pasta sauce. For a quick dish, make sardines and tomatoes on toast.

Although, if you order meal prep services, you don’t need to worry about food preparation time, as that is done for you. All you need to do is heat up the dishes, knowing you are eating a nutritious meal even if you are short on time.
