Meal Prep Lunches For Healthy Lifestyle

Most people can get their heads around eating healthy and wholesome breakfasts and batch cooking homemade dinners for their evening meals, but when it comes to lunches, lots of us run out of ideas and typically resort to the same cheese or ham sandwich every day.

It is still important to eat healthily at lunchtime, so you can fuel the body for the rest of the day, and provide important macro- and micronutrients needed to either lose weight, stay in good shape or build muscle.

The best way to ensure you eat a healthy lunch if you are always on the go is to plan your meals and prepare them in advance.

Dietitian Sammi Brondo told Insider: “Meal planning is a great way to take the stress out of figuring out what to eat for the week, especially if you want to stay within the parameters of a certain diet.”

She recommended making a batch of pasta with roasted veggies and chicken sausage, as this can be made in advance and contains carbohydrates and lean protein, as well as healthy veg.

Another good option is a taco bowl, with pre-cooked rice, peppers, onions, black beans, and avocado. Chicken, salmon, or shrimp could be added to boost protein intake.

Perhaps surprisingly, the dietician also recommended a peanut and jam wholemeal sandwich, as it is packed with protein, rich in essential vitamins, has fibre and is filling.

Body & Soul also recommends making a mushroom, spinach, and asparagus omelette, as it provides lots of protein from eggs and cheese, vitamins from the vegetables, and fat from the coconut oil and coconut milk.

Preparing meals in advance can be time-consuming, so why not order meal prep services to deliver your healthy meals to your door?
